Greetings from South Dakota!

Last hunting season has come and gone, and we here at Dakota Expeditions would once again like to have another great hunt with you and your party.

The past hunting season saw a large number of birds during the late season (November-December). This was in part due to the late harvest, wet fall and low number of hunters state wide.  The good news is that there will be a huge population of wild birds this year for your shooting pleasure!

This winter has given us plenty of snowfall to kick off the spring planting season. We have seen 8-10 inches of snow in the past couple weeks, which has since melted and filled the lakes and stock dams.  The farmer’s almanac is calling for a wet spring and a cooler than normal summer with plenty of rain. If the almanac is accurate, and usually is, we should have one of the best bird populations we have seen in many years.

Some news on the business front, we have expanded the hunting preserve to encompass an additional 540 acres of prime upland bird habitat for your hunting pleasure. As you may already know, I (Josh), will be taking a long vacation to a not so pleasant place for the next year.  Do not be alarmed that the head honcho will not be hunting with you this season. My father, Clint, will be taking care of most of the field work during the weekends and I will have a full staff of guides to help out as well.

We have hunts reserved for many of you and your groups, and we still have dates available. For those of you who would like a late October to mid-November hunt, I would recommend that you book as soon as you can to claim those dates. We are enclosing a Reservation Form for your convenience. When we receive you Reservation Form, as well as the deposit(s) of $500.00 per gun, we will send you a confirmation letter.  Give us a call if you want your dates “penciled in” or if you have any questions.

Thanks again for your past patronage and friendship! We are looking forward to seeing you this fall and treating you to another great hunt here at Dakota Expeditions!

 Regards,

Josh and Laura
